Serigraphs

Most of my prints are serigraphs, which is a fine art process which involves “separations” of colors used to create the image. Most of my serigraphs have an average of 10 or 11 silk screens or color separations and others have as many as 30 or more separate screens used to create an image.

The colors are laid down and registered individually until the image is completed. Each sheet of paper will be registered and screened from 10 to 30 times. The serigraphs are then, titled, numbered, signed and dated. Outside of the numbered edition, there will are APs (artist proofs, 1/10 of the edition length goes to the artist), PPs (printer’s proofs, which belong to the master printer).

These serigraphs are not color reproductions of existing paintings photocopied on to a piece of paper or canvas. Those are called giclee’s, they are not fine art prints.
